Tirupati, Oct 07: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams has launched a three day awareness workshop on cancer for its women workforce on Friday.
TTD EO AV Dharm Reddy along with cancer survivor and actress Gautami Tadimalla formally inaugurated the workshop at the Mahati auditorium in Tirupati on Friday.
Addressing the women employees, TTD EO stressed on the need to maintain a healthy lifestyle to keep cancer at bay.
AV Dharma Reddy noted that consumption of food cooked out of produce from natural farming procedures improves one’s immune system and prepares the body to effectively fight against deadly diseases. He urged the women employees to become complete vegetarian and avoid non vegetarian food.
“If a mother in the family is healthy, then the entire society will be healthy”, he asserted.
Film actress and Life Again foundation founder Gautami said cancer had no age limit and could be prevented by rejecting pesticide based food consumption and following healthy life habits.
TTD JEO (H&E) Sada Bhargavi said TTD had prioritised on women employee’s health and hence the cancer awareness program. She said healthy lifestyle and Ayurveda, Siddha and Yoga practices keeps everyone healthy and away from cancer.
