Following the astonishing success of Discovery School Super League with 2.40 million participants across 23,400+ schools in Season 4, ed-tech startup BYJU’S, and Discovery India- the country’s leading infotainment channel, announced the 5th Season of the much-awaited quiz contest 3 months back. With its latest campaign thought, ‘‘Seekh ke Samjho, samajh ke jeeto’, the ongoing quiz focuses on making learning fun by uniting and inspiring kids to work together whilst keeping up their competitive spirit.
In just a span of 5 years, DSSL has emerged as India’s favorite school quiz. Over 10 million students from across 2000+ cities are expected to partake in this unprecedented and ambitious show. The mega quiz show fosters students to approach learning with a whole new perspective while celebrating the significance of lifelong learning. The fun and fact-filled event makes learning exciting, and engaging and gives school students across India an opportunity to compete and showcase their talent on a national level.
As the competition kick-started, students participated in the preliminary round in their respective schools, and all participants irrespective of whether they won or lost received laurels such as free BYJU’S courses and classes for BYJU’S Tuition Centre (BTC). In addition to that, every grade topper received a school bag and a detailed analysis of the aptitude test for a 1-to-1 conversation at BTC. After going through rigorous rounds of quizzing, qualifiers from each of the 30 states have been selected which was held at BTC near them.
Around 2500+ students across 50 schools participated in the national quiz in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, out of which around 250 students who performed exceptionally well from Sadhu Waswani School-Bhopal, Jolly Memorial School, Ujjain, No.1 Airforce School, Gwalior, Stemfield International School, Jabalpur, KH Memorial School, Durg, and Radiant Way School, Raipur, were selected for the special workshop at a local BYJU’S Tuition Center (BTC). The workshops helped them gain valuable insights into advanced concepts related to the fields of Math and Science and equipped the next generation with the 21st-century skills necessary for them to succeed in their studies and careers. The intensive workshops at BTC were specially designed to align with the existing school curriculum and meet the digitalization requirements set by these schools. These unique workshops clearly demonstrated how technology can be used to solve real-world problems in collaborative learning environments. Students left the workshops better equipped with crucial skills like critical thinking, complex problem solving, creativity, collaboration, and communication, needed in their future careers.
Speaking about his experience, Vansh Choudhary, a student of Stemfield International School, Jabalpur said, “I have always loved to learn new things. The workshop at BYJU’S Tuition Centre took conceptual understanding and visualization to another level! It was extremely interesting to get insights into advanced concepts of Maths and Science as part of the workshop, and I hope even more students get this wonderful opportunity to expand their knowledge.”

Season 5 of BYJU’S-DSSL has been conceptualized at a never-before scale and is touted to be one of India’s biggest national-level school quizzes ever. To celebrate the relentless spirit of learning, the top three teams of the competition along with their respective principals will be awarded a special chance of winning an all-expense paid trip to NASA. Moreover, the three winning teams will receive a generous cash prize and national recognition, as the contest will be shot in Mumbai and telecasted on the Discovery Network channels. Over 1.6 crore participants from over 77k schools across multiple cities in India have participated in the previous seasons of this mega-event.
