KARNAL: Himanshu Pathak, Secretary, Department of Agriculture Research and Education (DARE) cum Director General (DG), Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) on Thursday visited National Dairy Research Institute in Karnal.
He appreciated the work done by NDRI over the years. He also congratulated NDRI for achieving the best university since the last five years.
He said, ” ICAR is proud of the work done by NDRI and its achievements. We should work hard to make the NDRI a Global Animal University and to improve the health of our Animals”
On this occasion, he announced that from October 1st, they will introduce 5 days’ work in all the ICAR Institutes.
Pathak said,” We are going to introduce 5 days’ work in all the ICAR Institutes from October 1.”
He further added that all the deemed universities should admit a minimum 3000 students according to new admission policies.
He said that 70% of the Institutes funds generated will remain in the present Institutes.
On this occasion, B.N. Tripathi, D.D.G., Animal sciences congratulated NDRI for celebrating the hundred years of its establishment. He further informed that having 210 million tonnes of milk production is a great achievement of our country. He highlighted the cloning work carried out at the Institute.
Director NDRI, Dheer Singh welcomed all the dignitaries. Directors of sister ICAR Institutes of Karnal were also present.
